Acute oxalate nephropathy in a patient with diabetes
A recent case report described a woman with long-standing diabetes who developed acute oxalate nephropathy during a hospitalization for diabetic ketoacidosis.
A case published Jan. 16 in Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases described a woman with long-standing diabetes who developed acute oxalate nephropathy during hospitalization due to renal hypoperfusion from diabetic ketoacidosis, use of NSAIDs and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, and nephrotoxic antibiotics.
